FOMCは政策金利を3.50-3.75%に据え置いたが、声明からは緩和的バイアスが削除。ドットチャートが上方修正される「タカ派的据え置き」となった。この結果、ドル買いが強まり、一時160.80円前後へ上伸し、2024年11月以来の高値を更新した

Following the FOMC’s hawkish hold, the dollar/yen pair has moved within striking distance of the 161 level. At the same time, this is likely to heighten market concerns over the possibility of yen-buying intervention by the Japanese government and the Bank of Japan.
Given that recent price action has been driven primarily by broad-based U.S. dollar strength, it remains difficult to make official intervention the base-case scenario. However, it would be premature to rule out the possibility that a move into the 161 range could serve as a trigger for intervention, particularly if authorities judge the pace of yen depreciation to be excessive or speculative.
For that reason, while the broader bias remains toward further dollar gains and yen weakness, the advance in dollar/yen is likely to proceed at a gradual pace rather than through a sharp, one-sided surge. The closer the pair moves toward and beyond 161, the more sensitive the market is likely to become to intervention-related headlines and official rhetoric.
